Work with me
I believe in the power of creative writing to change a person’s life. I have taught writing and worked with other writers for over a decade. I love seeing a writer’s work in its early stages and providing guidance on where they may choose to go with it.
-
I have a decade’s experience as a creative writing teacher. My clients have included The Linenhall Arts Centre, Big Smoke Writing Factory, Creative Writing Ink, Roscommon Arts Centre, Dingle Literary Festival, and University of Galway. I currently offer workshops online and in person through All Weather Words

As an editor I work on developmental edits and line edits.
Developmental edits: this covers the structure, characters, voice, concept, and the bigger picture of the manuscript.
Line edits: this is a detailed line by line editorial.
Please note I do not offer copy editing or proof reading. -
I work one on one with writers developing their body of work, from those who have not yet published a book, to more experienced writers seeking a close eye and confidential ear. Each month you will send me a certain amount of your book, I will send you back written feedback and we will meet on zoom to discuss. These sessions are yours to use as you wish, and we can outline a plan to make the most of our time together early on.
Pricing €350 per session
Each session includes feedback on up to 5000 words, the option to send revisions, and a 60 minute zoom meeting.

Not all books are written the same, not all writers are the same.
I’m happy to tailor a package suitable to your needs.
Please get in touch to discuss what would suit you, payment plans, and schedules.
Past pupils and clients have said:
“I really enjoyed this course with Alice Kinsella. She stretched me outside my comfort zone, but that is all to the good. I loved the topics, and found myself writing about things I had never written about before. Poetry, I find, is a great way of finding healing for the past, finding joy in the small things of life, and a desire to make each poem the best I can. Alice’s comments were helpful and insightful, and I sensed her delight in each poem I offered, as if she were opening up a gift each time she read one. Alice is delightful to work for and a very encouraging and discerning tutor.”
– Angela, student of ‘Introduction to writing poetry’“I first came across Alice Kinsella at an open mic, where she read some of her published poetry. A few months later, I signed up for her six-week creative writing course at the Linenhall Theatre, in Castlebar, County Mayo. I found the course to be stimulating, informative, enjoyable and very engaging - most importantly, it got my memoir writing off the ground. I struggle to feel motivated when it comes to my own work, and I can't thank Alice enough for giving me plenty of one-on-one feedback in the small group setting. I also did Alice's intensive memoir writing masterclass, which was really comprehensive. We covered so much ground - I was able to make swift progress with my writing as a result of this. I've also had a chance to try Alice's introduction to creative writing, which she co-facilitates with Daniel Wade, and this course has something for everyone, as it covers many different genres. I've learned so much since attending Alice's classes and workshops - they're excellent value for money, and they provide structure and help me focus on my own writing, which has come on quite a bit in the time I've attended these courses. Alice is a superb tutor - she offers constructive feedback to each student, and she's able to ensure we all leave each class with the tools necessary to begin and improve our own writing.
— Karishmeh, student of The Write Hours, Memoir masterclass, and Introduction to Creative Writing“I had Alice edit a draft of my second novel after attending one of her classes and I loved working with her. She provided me with brilliant insights on the plotting, the characters and the voice, and it improved my work so much. I learned a lot from her that I've been able to take into my subsequent work. I wouldn't hesitate to use Alice again for editing work again in the future.”
