Failure to Thrive
Who speaks for those who can't speak? Who writes history? Who takes responsibility?
Failure to Thrive is a project about maternity care in Ireland from 1922-the present day.
It explores questions of voice, consent, advocacy, and who tells a story.
A key part of this is In Her Own Words: a living archive of first person accounts of maternity care. Any woman who has given birth in Ireland can contribute. All stories will be anonymised.
My intention is to give a space for the women who have not felt their voices were heard to share their maternity experience, and to create an archive of mother’s accounts in an area where the voice of mother and child is so often missing.
You can share your story by completing the below form.
Text and audio files are both supported.
